Our Mission

The Neurotherapist Academy’ mission is to share our expertise and passion for neurosciences, rehabilitation, and education to nurture the professional development of Neurotherapists through every stage of their career. We want to build an academy that is valued as top provider of high-quality support and education, which enables Neurotherapists to develop their skills and knowledge to excel as professionals. By adapting and responding to the needs of our learners, the changing healthcare landscape, and professional requirements, we aim to ensure that our innovative learning services provide an accessible approach to continual professional development.

We believe that: 1.Education and development opportunities should be accessible and engaging. 2.Educational pursuits should nurture professional development, support the needs of different levels of expertise, and promote deep and critical learning. 3.Education should be applicable and implementable into professional career. 4.Evidence based knowledge must be central to high quality education provision.

Our Drive

The Neurotherapist Academy has been founded by Kelly Saunders, a neuro physiotherapist herself who has a passion for everything neurosciences as well as nurturing the development of others. As a clinician for over twenty years, and more recently moving into Academia, Kelly worked to the highest level as one of first Extended Scope Practitioners in field of Acute Neurosciences and furthering this to work as consultant therapist. She has worked in many of the large teaching hospitals and has been clinical lead to variety of professional groups. She has provided mentoring, coaching and supervision to different professions, of all different levels from assistant to consultant and prides herself in providing an empathetic and positive approach to support individuals. With a MSc in Neurorehabilitation and Postgrad certificates in Healthcare Leadership as well as Learning and Teaching in Higher Education combined with her significant clinical experience, Kelly can shape and guide the education provision of The Neurotherapist Academy to ensure high quality education and services are offered. Throughout her personal career, opportunities for supportive development for Neurotherapists has always been limited compared to other specialties. The Neurotherapist Academy wants to change that by enabling accessible educational opportunities that are varied and help to develop skills and knowledge for Neurotherapists throughout the career. We set out to build and develop with our learners, to support them in gaining access to the education and continuing professional development that they need and deserve.
